Explosion-Proof (EXD) Split System

Benson Airconditioning is in the process of further developing an explosion-proof (EXD) split airconditioning system for use in hazardous areas of the underground mining sector and on off-shore oil rigs.

We currently supply airconditioning systems for underground mining rescue modules to various mining industries. These units are used in disaster scenarios, for example: where people could be trapped underground for a period of time. The units have undergone stringent testing to ensure that they operate in emergency situations - providing airconditioning for 10 to 20 people; utilising special battery packs lasting up to 36 hours.

We look forward to adding EXD systems to our extensive range of industrial sector airconditioning systems. Our first prototype is currently being tested and will be released during 2009.
