Benson Plasma Airstream

We have introduced the Benson Plasma Air Stream as an optional extra for the full range of Benson ducted systems.

Testing carried out at the Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing technology in a 70m³ room showed a massive 96.4% of airborne bacteria eliminated after only thirty minutes of operation.

Tests

Tests on the Benson Plasma Air Stream were carried out at the Shanghai Institute of Preventative Medical Research.

The tests used the following conditions:

Flow rate of 650 cubic metres (m³) per hour
Air velocity of 3.5 metres per second

Test A

A special room of 15m³ was fitted with a Benson Plasma Air Stream unit. The room was disinfected and the Staphylococcus bacteria was added.

After 30 minutes of running, a disinfection rate ranging from 60.87% to 64.19% was achieved.

Test B

A standard room of 70m³ was fitted with a Benson Plasma Air Stream unit. The system ran for 30 minutes with the following results:

Airborne bacteria elimination 96.4%
Cigarette smog removal 82% - this surpasses the minimum requirement of 70%
Ozone concentration 0.02 milligrams / m³ - required to be less than 0.1mg/m³ at 5cm away
Negative ions concentration 4.0 x10 to the sixth ions/cm³ - required at 30cm away equal or greater than 1.0 x 10 to the sixth ions/cm³
